FAQ's

Where can I buy the baby hammock?

The LaLeLu baby hammock will soon be available at Amazon.

Can my baby fall out of the hammock?

The hammock can be closed on both sides with ribbons as needed, which prevents your baby from falling out. In the LaLeLu hammock, we have deliberately avoided including seatbelts, so your baby can sleep relaxed without being disturbed by stiff or sharp-edged straps. When children are tall and mobile enough, they can get in and out of the hammock by themselves. For this to succeed without any problems we recommend to hang the hammock close to the ground. It may also be helpful to place an additional soft pad, such as a playmat, under the hammock. Please note that the hammock should never be used without supervision.

Can I wash the hammock?

The hammock fabric and the textile cover can be washed to 30 ° C. The mattress is washable at 60 ° C. Further care instructions can be found on the appropriate signs on the hammock and mattress.

Up to what age and weight can I use the hammock?

The hammock is - regardless of age - designed to a weight of 15 kg. So not only infants, but also 2-3-year-old toddlers can enjoy the hammock. The mattress surface has the dimensions of 70x35 cm. But even if children are bigger, they can easily cuddle up in the hammock or even let their legs dangle out of the hammock.

Why does the swinging seem soothing?

The LaLeLu baby hammock is a natural sleep aid and gently and safely swings your baby into a deep sleep. The hammock swaddles the baby's body, so that it feels a sense of peace and security through the soothing swinging movements, as in Mama's belly. The spine is ideally supported and preserved in the gentle rounded back shape.

Is the hammock good for the back of my child?

A rounded back support of babies is recommended by midwives and doctors in the first few months. The LaLeLu hammock supports a natural posture and helps your baby with initial digestive discomfort and restlessness.

Why doesn’t the hammock swing stronger, weaker or even with a motor?

The spring was specially designed and tested for babies up to 15 kg (=33 pounds). Especially in the first months, when your baby is still very small, the spring should not swing a lot to avoid shaking trauma. As in mama’s belly - even the smallest rocking movements have a calming and relaxing effect on the newborn. The heavier your child becomes, the more the spring will stretch out. Some babies are also happy to keep the hammock moving through their own movements. The movement of the spring should be caused without the use of an motor, since electronic devices should be not used near babies as they can be harmful. With a few tricks you can also help yourself keep the hammock moving. Some parents tie an extra rope to the hammock to occasionally set a rocking pulse. Please note that the hammock is not designed as a swing and should be carefully moved sideways.

Is the hammock safe?

The resistance of the hammock parts is much higher than necessary. The spring is additionally equipped with a safety rope to protect it from over-stretching. Please note that the hammock may only be used under supervision.

How and where can I attach the hammock?

The LaLeLu baby hammock can be attached to the door frame with a doorclamp or to the ceiling with a hook. Door clamp: The LaLeLu hammock can be hung by using the door clamp on any door frame, which has a width of max. 30 cm and an overhang of 5mm. No tools are required for installing the door clamp.
